Researchers working on Portugal in 16th century, I have a question for you. How many enslaved people were there in Portugal in the 16th century AND did they indeed make up for 10% of the population? The figures & sources I have don't match.

I should have been there tonight but no trains and only a few replacement buses that couldn't bring me back to the wild wild West Wales. I missed out 😩 I LOVE Prof Qureshi's work. The book is brilliant!

Quite a week! Filming for the Orwell Prize; invited to the Elysée Palace by President Macron for the 25 years of the Taubira Law; several important announcements made there, like the dissolution of Code Noir, finally & more. Trying to write while travelling😩 Resting in the Wild West Wales now. Phew.

After Brexit, you'd think people would've kicked those charlatans to the curb. Instead they're hate-bonding again over Black & Brown people's tiny presence in Wales. As for 'protest voters' (vs Lab) chosing Reform over Plaid Cymru, really?? Le big sigh, vraiment.
