Final Fantasy VI is 32 years old today. It's hard to find words whenever I need to say something about FFVI because of how important and special it really is. So I'll just say this—If you've never played it, you owe it to yourself as a gamer to experience it. I promise, it's worth it.

I feel like a crossover of that scale could only work in game form. This is without even going into potential rights issues between studios like Universal (Mario) and Sony (Zelda).

Honestly, if you haven't played this game, I think you should give it a shot. Just do note you'll have to buy the DLC chapters separately on console, while PC has the "Ultimate Edition" with them included.

The Legend of Zelda series is so hugely popular that it's virtually impossible to please everyone. Different fans will have had different starting points and thus their own vision of what an ideal Zelda game should be. ...Or you could just enjoy the games for what they are. That's fine and valid.
