🧠 A team from 🇳🇱 @umcutrecht.bsky.social and 🇳🇱 @tue.nl has developed a new method to monitor #blood flow in the #brain to detect the risk of a #stroke during #surgery sooner – and potentially prevent it. This could also be useful for other types of operations, such as kidney transplants.

For the first time, neurosurgeons at UMC Utrecht can see brain blood flow live during surgery, thanks to a new technique developed with TU/e researchers Yizhou Huang and Massimo Mischi.
