Friends in production are pulling out of their pensions and pivoting to other work in order to pay bills. It should've never been like this, and Newsom's tax credit to restart production here seems to have done fuck all thus far. It hasn't stimulated return of production to LA.

I wish these networks did literally anything that didn't constantly fuck over workers. I just visited with a friend who's a union prop maker. She's had one small job this April since January of 2023. Countless friends have had to leave LA or change jobs. People deserve to make their living in arts

The thing that makes me furious about the calls to boycott Disney and Hulu is that we will understand it as expressing discontent, and executives will understand it as -never restarting production -forever outsourcing and AI-ing -jacking up streaming prices again ultimately
