The closure of DMT Tapes FL is a bittersweet one. Once a juggernaut of the vaporwave scene and showcasing new up-and-coming artists, giving many their first exposure to listeners... to an absolute mess of AI 'music'. DMT Tapes FL ended when they went fully AI.

Bandcamp bans AI music

If you have a device that you can run Suno (or similar AI slop services) on, then you have a device you could make your own damn music on. There are free DAWs for both computers and smartphones. Music production isn't gatekept, you're just lazy and lack respect for art.

The FL Studio stem splitter tool is actually pretty great. There's a little bit of margin of error, but it's pretty useful! Expect more remixes in future.

So The Chainsmokers released an unauthorized remix of EsDeeKid and it has (rightfully) been removed from all platforms. Not sure why they thought they'd get away with it... BUT, listen to a snippet, it's legitimately the worst drop I've ever heard.
