En route to San Diego for
#PAG33
with several of my Bayer Crop Science colleagues. I'm excited to see what the genomics community has cooked up over the last year. Don't miss the Bayer-sponsored session on Monday! We have a great lineup of internal and external speakers

I will NOT be voting for Mamdami today! Firstly because his name is spelled Mamdani. Secondly because I'm not a resident of NYC, but I would if I could. I'm excited to get out and vote in my local elections today though, and you should be too.

In my last week of paternity leave and I opened my work laptop to take a peak. 222 emails and 80 teams messages. Not too bad I guess?

Made "Coconut Red Curry Sauce and Noodles" I saw on Worst Cooks in America. The reviews said it was a bit bland so I doubled the amount of red curry paste. Its also the first time I've cooked with tofu. Overall id give it a 7/10

Another year, another successful trip to
#PAG32
. Attended several talks that will affect the way I carry out my work for the better. Meeting old friends and making new ones also brings me joy. Though I had a lot of fun, I can't wait to see my dog again π. Until next year βοΈ

Now soliciting advice for sending viable (seed) material to international collaborators and receiving non-viable (dried leaves) material from international collaborators (Czech Republic). The USDAβs website is a tad overwhelming and Iβd love to chat with someone with experience! Please help!! π

Jess is out of town, so let's check in on Brooks once an hour and see how he's holding up without her. 10am; forlorn. Sitting in the corner of her office on an oversized chair reupholstered just for him (so Brooks believes)

Repotted these the other day. The smaller one is a Brugmansia (trumpet flower) cutting that's probably not going to make it. The other is a rapidly growing Euphorbia that I hope can grow taller than me someday?

I saw Prof. Chory give a wonderful keynote at ASPB in 2018. Everyone I spoke with there that knew her glowed about how kind Joanne was and how much Joanne has helped their careers. Thats how you impact science beyond your own research questions. Be more like Joanne

Welcome plant people! Thanks to whoever added me to the Botanist starter pack. I'd hesitate to call myself a botanist but I am all about plants and plant genomics so I'll do my best to contribute plant content πΏπ» . Here's the start of what I hope to be a full sleeve of things I've worked on
