My 11-year-old and I ran a table at @dublinmaker.bsky.social this weekend, mixing maths, art, neuroscience, and machine learning. Over 100 people joined us to sketch emotions, act them out, and see their faces transformed into Eigenfaces using maths and computing.

Last year we had the inaugural Funny Brains event @fens.org forum. On the first day there was training and on the second day 14 neuroscientists did phenomenal comedy science acts to an audience of 200+ people. This year we are having an online event about using humour in online science communication

This worries me as someone who works with data, as a research and as a human. 1. Having a central database could be a good thing but large data can give significant results that are not important or meaningful especially if there is analysis bias. 2. Saying the number of people with Autism … 1/2

Tomorrow is the @alzheimersocirl.bsky.social Tea Day. It is a lovely way to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's research and care. I cannot make it to an event but I will raise a cup of tea in memory of my mum and support for everyone with Alzheimer's and their families.

Today I defied convention and cut the lawn from the middle not the side. I am now a Rebel and I have no regrets.
