My youngest stepkid went to a party uptown and lost his car keys. He didn't call his mom. He didn't call his dad. He called me, and I got him in an Uber and got him home. We'll deal with the rest of it in the morning, but this feels like the best stepdad win I'll ever have.

Is the economy bad? At least one person on my team has to work a side hustle to make ends meet, and another just asked if there was a way to cash out vacation time for extra money. I've tried to get people raises, but we didn't even get a cost-of-living adjustment this year.
