I accidentally blew up a raider (they got too close to the Bombardier I just Deadlined) and, despite de-fibbing the guy afterwards, I think I've been shunted to the Bad Matchmaking.

Spent all day on this horrible bug that meant my health bars weren't working properly. Well, they were in a test scene - just not in the main game. Turns out it was 'just' a duplicate script on a different part messing everything up. GRRR! #gamedev

Nearly 24hours of playtime in. Time for some thoughts - the bits I like and the bits I'd tweak a bit. 1 - It's a very solid base. Controls are good, presentation is good and progression feels good too. In short - it's good.

AI has actively made life worse for literally everyone - tech is now more expensive - you cannot trust most media of reality anymore - programs barely function - energy prices - literal psychosis - your voice can be literally stolen for evil - more spyware but hey, you can avoid paying an artist.

Aliens: Dark Descent has its xenomorphic claws into me right now. It's the Lt. Gorman simulator I'd always wanted to make. Decent AA quality. Plenty of mileage out of the levels - which hits all of the right notes from the Alien universe.

I let our 11 y/o play with the prototype I'm making. It lets you chain together a maximum number of items. She wanted to be able to chain together more. So she clicked on the variable in the inspector and changed the value to be much bigger. I don't think I've ever been more proud #gamedev
