For my non-meteorologist friends who may not get why the gutting and privatization of NOAA/NWS are so concerning, keep in mind: this is what we work day in and day out to prevent. These layoffs cannot stand.

This is the worst
#drought
in 25 years in much of

. We are a foot behind since Sept 1. It’s the driest such period on record! The good news: we may add an inch Sunday night. We’ll take it… But clearly it’s nowhere near what’s needed. Gonna be a tough spring as we head towards fire season.

Very high fire danger for the I-25 corridor & eastern Colorado for Monday + Tuesday (esp Tuesday). 60+ mph gusts, very dry air mass. Likely worst Tuesday. Not seeing anything from Xcel yet, but preventative power outages may be on the table early next week.

i don't think the leagues should act like they're in competition to one another but if we were going to pick at that bone i think a more relevant data point is that the fall classic last year was an all-timer knock-down 7 game brawler and the super bowl we just watched was a prolonged wet fart
