Excited to share our recent work. We show that dendritic cells that express RORγt are a distinct lineage of DCs with wide tissue distribution and functions ranging from inducing T cell tolerance to T cell activation. RORγt+ dendritic cells have a surprising dual role in immunity—preventing overreactions while activating responses when needed, as shown by an international team led by Barbara Schraml at LMU’s Biomedical Center. A promising target for new therapies.
