Day 8: the fight in infinite wealth vs Saejima, Majima, and Daigo is probably my favorite based on what it means for the characters and honestly just how cool it is. It feels like a proper last stand for kiryu in a way the final boss didn’t because it shows that both sides are running out of steam

Day 7: Shishido is my favorite antagonist based on being the best representation of a stubborn bastard. He refuses to go down no matter what you throw at him. It’s the same kind of unstoppable force you expect from one of the protagonists, except used against you

I knew I’d forget, you’re gonna get 3 in a row now: Day 6: This might be recency bias but I think my favorite is pirate yakuza Cannon Baseball. The timing for the swing is generous and the aiming isn’t a pain on controller like it was with other baseball. Fun mix of reaction time and planning

Day 5: The sotenbori battle theme from K2/LaD is and likely always will be my favorite battle theme. I can’t really put my finger on what it is, but everything works perfectly for me in that song

Day 4: There’s a ton of good choices I could go with but I’m going to force myself to pick one. Let it snow from Like a Dragon, Infinite Wealth is the one that I think summarizes yakuza the very best. It’s ridiculous, but knows when to pull back and take itself seriously despite that

Day 3: I have to give it to beast style. I couldn’t tell you what it is about it, but that feeling of being an unstoppable force (albeit a very slow one) has yet to be matched for me. Something about being able to charge up the light attacks and armoring through everything is extremely satisfying

Day 2: I think my favorite tattoo design is both how it looks and how it adds to a character: Rikiya’s viper. For so long he wears it as a badge of honor even though it isn’t complete. He’s a big fish in a small pond. Only once he gets humbled by the big city can both him and the tattoo be complete.

Day 1: as much as I love Ichiban I have to kiryu. It’s such a close call between the two but kiryu’s stubborn nature is something I relate to maybe a bit too well
