How it started / how it’s going

All solidarity to my brilliant former colleagues at Exeter. The careful, deliberate dismantling of british higher education by its nominal 'leaders' - focused especially on the arts & humanities - is going to be rememberd as one of the major scandals of this generally awful/scandalous age.

Also I feel very much like I was just at an Enterprise Ireland announcement, not a Research Ireland one. Major focus on industry, commercialisation of research, turning scientists into entrepreneurs, creating a talent pipeline for industry, and an overriding theme of fairly ill-defined "scale".

Took recommendation & loved this too. A pleasure to read the passages about the Museum Building (& comfort that moths more common than my office). A lot else resonated with me, on failures & frustrations of writing, on class, on parenting young kids while working, & feeling at boundary of identities

I get a lot of AI slop book marketing emails, but this is the first time I have ever been . . . mistaken for Jane Austen.

These numbers should be amplified everywhere there is a flat surface. The 3,000 person sample size was statistically significant. The direction of travel is positive but runs directly contrary to the perception born in the echo-chamber of Twitter-brained media and politics. (H&CC is a client)
