On Dec 29th 2025. I deleted all copies of vs-code from my computer and switched to emacs. The hardest of decisions requires the strongest of wills.

Completed the rewrite of our type-level router, moving away from linear pattern matching to trie based lookup. I noticed it provides 1.5M to 3.1M reqs/sec perf depending on capture complexity. #OCaml

I'm sure it's a long developed bias, but I find it easier to write code in rust and other languages if I first think up the solution in ocaml — it's a great prototyping language — you can take its clear building blocks and then translate them into other PL structures.

In OCaml, ! is used to retrieve the contents of a reference. It does not negate the content of the variable, as I used to assume before I discovered.

I have been using NixOS for a couple months now and have really liked it. It really scratches this part of my brain that really likes to keep everything tidy and tracked. The the declarative nature of NixOS is great for that. Plus it makes it easy to sync my environment across my two laptops.
