The biggest difference between the Star Trek and Star Wars universe is the vastness of space and spatial sprawl. Star Wars feels like it's set in "a galaxy far far away" only because the text told you so.... The audience sees like 5 planets that matter. Star Trek is endless exploration & wonder.
