Studying Art History makes me feel like the type of protagonist I make fun of: "If they love this subject so much, WHY ARE THEY FALLING ASLEEP IN THE VERY CLASS THAT TEACHES IT?!!"

Starting out, I winged it based on manga I liked, then got a bit more of an understanding for art direction and story structure when I got my "how to draw shoujo" book. Reading Bakuman in high school introduced me to how the industry worked. I also gained a lot from screenwriting classes in college.

When I color an illustration...I should really start with the clothes. They're my LEAST favorite part to shade. I have so much fun shading faces and hair, but then I lose all momentum when I'm left with all these clothes to do 😭

AN ARTIST CAFE!! A cool place for artists to get coffee and work on their art. Walls would be covered with crazy decor, all removable for customers to set up still-lifes. There would also be an art/reference book library and extra rooms in the back to rent out for workshops/model drawing sessions.
