Decoding performance (MVPA) better for OPM-MEG than SQUID-MEG 😎. The improved spatial specificity of OPM-MEG due to the reduced brain-sensor distance is key. And more sensors (beyond 40) don't improve decoding. Preprint from our recent @thechbh.bsky.social study: www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...

In this preprint, @chris-pinier.bsky.social shows that open-source LLMs can perform abstract reasoning tasks, that LLMs have representations of pattern type in intermediate layers, and that LLM activations correspond to Fixation Related Potentials from participants' EEG. arxiv.org/abs/2508.10057

1/3 Working on a formal answer to this; anyway our og-title was: "Common neural choice signals *can* emerge artefactually", which is still our central point and unaffected by this commentary

Very interesting reply on evidence accumulation in EEG. I guess the main takeaway of the debate is that ramps can emerge artifactually. Thus naïvely averaging EEG traces and ignoring component overlap leads to wrong inferences on EA. But so far it does look like EA traces in the EEG is a thing.

In this new preprint, in review @elife.bsky.social, we show what processing steps make up the reaction time using single trial #EEG modelling in a contrast #decision task. In this 🧵 I'm telling the story behind it as I think it is quite interesting and I can't write it like this in the paper...
