⠀ They found him quicker than he'd expected. The symbiotes without hosts had congealed into a smothering black tide, a gigantic wave of pure dark that pounded against the walls, and, eventually, the door to the room Strange had found his break in. “ Let me in, Stephen. ” ⠀

⠀ The dark tide is pushed back by the flames - symbiotes writhe in pain at the sensation, bonded to a host or not. But the paper birds will run out eventually, and Knull does not share the weaknesses of his children. “ Desperate, are we, child? ” ⠀

⠀ The armor is fully blown away, and Knull's head snaps the opposite direction at the impact of the kick. It quickly returns to center, however, with that demented grin still plastered upon his face. The god retaliates with a swift strike to the face that sends Strange flying backwards. ⠀

⠀ “ You are too confident, magician! ” His grin grew unnaturally wide, to a disturbing degree - the uncanny valley was his home, it seems. The sonics of the axe disrupted his armor and weapon, and he thus abandoned the scythe - instead lunging across the room with a suprising swiftness. ⠀

⠀ Half-shrouded in the angular shadows cast by pockets of moonlight that shone through windows, the lanky god answered. “ You know me well, child. ” His pale skin did not gleam in the light - rather, it absorbed it, as if his presence were a blight upon physics. ⠀

⠀ The apparition recoiled into the dark, and before fading away, spoke once more. “ Know this, child of light. I command a great and terrible army. We will sail til every light is snuffed out, wage war til ever star is extinguished. Your sunlight will not last. ” And...he was gone. ⠀

⠀ It was a smal thing. Dark, inexplicably dark, beyond all other shadows. It moved like a liquid 'neath the covers, slithering its way off of its host, Strange, and onto the floor of the Sanctum. 2 months ago, Knull had arrived to wreak havoc upon the Earth. ⠀
