Not enough time to test? Thought experiment: you get twice as much time - are you testing what you have or spitting out twice as many artefacts and still not testing? Time is (almost) always not the thing that stops you 🤷 look within yourself and your org's values

there's a big problem with the culture here on bluesky, and it's that not nearly enough people are posting about the 10 year anniversary of Carly Rae Jepsen's groundbreaking and timeless album EMOTION being this year and how awesome that is

Here’s a question to ask yourself: “Do we spend more on the pizza for our
#accessibility
hack day than on we are paying disabled people to be there?” Ideally as employees, but even as paid-for visitors. Or even as expenses-reimbursed visitors. Or even on the work you do to find volunteers.

The quiet part of the question "how can we design for people not like 'us'?" is often "without testing with or hiring people not like 'us'"

What if design leadership is less "I am the grand architect, marshaller of divine insights and corporate phallus waving" and more "I shall organise, nurture and maintain this garden for mutual benefit of bees and flowers which will arise mutually"?

I'm seeing an unbelievable number of HPotter cosplayers at this con. I get it. I used to be like you - it was my first true fandom and I loved the books so much. But you know what I love more? My trans brothers, sisters, and siblings. Fuck Joanne Kathleen Rowling. It's so easy to leave it behind.

I'd like to know more about the Better group, who seem to have become the default civic space provider in lots of bits of London. Libraries, leisure centres, soft play. What are the issues with one provider being so prevalent?

Done my campaigning for the morning. If you happen to be in Leeds and you don't want public spaces like Red Hall Playing Fields to be sold off for development and leased back to the council, you've got until 15th September to respond to the consultation
