A good programmer who knows what they're doing can use the tool effectively in ways that enhance their work and a bad programmer can use it in ways that make problems for everyone. The problem isn't the tool, it's having the experience to know how to use it safely.

I would make a distinction between vibe coding and using AI coding tools. The former implies letting the AI code without fully understanding what it's doing. The latter is more similar to advanced autocomplete. I've done both, and while there is a continuum, the extremes are quite distinct.
