Very unlikely I’ll get the motivation to paint any guard for #Guardvember But I have gotten the Steel Legion out, and had a think about what I want to add next years. The big things I want to add are some Stormtroopers and a Basilisk.

I might be in danger. Trying to convince myself they’ll look quite fetching in a pale Kislev blue and red.

By far my favourite reveal of the night. He would make a great guard commander (as the core of a Lord Solar proxy), or honestly maybe a Necron Flayer Lord, with a bit of work.

500pts of Old World Kislev (Renegade Crowns) all cleaned and based. Need to pick up some movement trays for the horses. And most still need magnets (mostly so they do fall over in the movement trays, some of these are real top heavy). #Nerdlings

Work was mentally taxing, so probably no actual hobbying for me today. But my extra Kislev guys turned up. Got them for a pretty good price (I definitely paid more for some of my old guys). This gives me two units of 15 Kossars, and two Boyars. Plenty to work with. #Nerdlings

Had a go at some green stuffing, to get the lancers sitting better. Success I think, though not currently very pretty. Once it’s properly cured I might have ago at making some mail to cover it up. #Nerdlings

With the new Renegade Crown list for Old World, I’ve had another look at the old Kislev. Got just enough (with a very lost Araby wizard) to do a 500pts army. List is a captain, wizard, 2x 10 sellsword infantry, 5 freeblades, and 5 outriders. Sadly no really way to get the bear in. #Nerdlings

Spent the evening sorted out old models to move on. The Farsight Enclaves and Nurgle are two of the bigger armies getting sold (I’m keep some favourites, from each). I’ve had a lot of fun with each of these but I’ve reached the absolute limit with my available space! #Nerdlings

The new bits definitely need a bit more drybrushing to try and match better. But otherwise the walls of definitely-not-Helms-Deep are done.

I’m in a very Star Wars mood after finishing the Jedi games, so I’m rewatching some of the Disney shows. Just rewatched The Acolyte so now even more disappointed it’s not getting a second season. Honestly think it’s one of the better Star Wars shows. Other than Andor it’s probably my favourite.

The destroyed wall section. Definitely easier ways to make rubble, but all I’ve got is cork, PVA glue, and a dream.

Have also now finished Jedi Survivor (got them both pretty cheap). A far better game than the first one. Actually felt a little powerful. And it’s a lot more considerate of your time with checkpoints. Story was also much better IMHO. 4 out of 5 lightsabers

A vague layout for the display. All the plastic bits are going to get sunken into the cork. And I’m going to add more cork to vary the elevation. Idea is the dwarf are coming out of a door onto the mountain. So I can add snow, and match their bases. 700pts of dwarfs, struggle to have more I think.

Glued and nailed the backboard onto my first display board. The pillars should reach the top of the back board, once glued on, and the ground texture is down.

Just finished Jedi: Fallen Order, and it’s fine… I expected a lot better considering all the praise it got. The combat is just so unresponsive and sluggish. And the lightsaber boss fights universally suck. Way too long, and the combat system barely rewards you for doing it correctly.

For a variety of reasons I’ve lost motivation for the current rpg I’m running, so I’m think of returning to my one true rpg-love. And finally do some Cthulhu in Berlin. Anyone know of any good 1920s ish civilian miniature? I think actually using models would really help my players.
