Reflecting on my recent experiences with jj and I think we're gonna look back on the improvements that jj makes over git similarly to how we look at the improvements git made over CVS and SVN. I really feels like being introduced to clean drinking water for the first time.

This is the correct response by investors. I'm happy this seems to be the dominant view and not that its a cost saving technique. This also could be because investors have wised up to companies using AI as a convenient excuse for doing layoffs that were going to happen for other reasons.

IDK that I would say ISO is the exposure budget, it depends on what your subject is. Each vertex of the exposure triangle gives different qualities to the image. It depends on what your intention for the image is. Sometimes I do, in fact, want a clean image with a lot of shutter drag.

Disclaimer: I have massive Rust bias. In the medium-long term LLMs will make the properties of programming languages much more important than anything else. This will render languages like Ruby, who's primary selling point is human happiness when writing, to only hobby projects.

Unit tests are helpful when the language does nothing for you (looking at you Ruby). I honestly find them only minimally useful in Rust compared to strong types and integration tests.

I'm just going to say it, I really don't like the "how do we make OSS sustainable" framing. OSS is already sustainable. The only thing not sustainable is users expecting a free lunch (support, LTS, bug fixes, ...). As a user, you are responsible for your OSS usage. Fork/patch if you need to.

This is an excellent example on how you handle AI contributions in OSS. Not a blanket ban but holding the code to the same standard you would any other submission. If it doesn’t meet your standard then it doesn’t get merged. Regardless of how the code was created.

Honestly this incident only minority has to do with AI and a whole ton to do with Railway’s very poor API design. This should have been impossible to do AI or not.

AI is a huge boon for this approach to software. Since the cost of creating code had dropped so dramatically you can, and should, spend more time thinking about your problems and designs.

First thing I think I'm going to build with my agent harness is a CI config bot. All it's gonna do is watch for CI setup failure and submit patches until CI is green. I am so over jumping through hoops setting up CI environments and 8,000,000 "CI fix" commits 😂

Gonna photography nerd for a moment! Doing exposure adjustment on RAW photos is really common but usually you have to balance with other aspects of the photo looking like crap. Here you can just crank the exposure up because the background is pure black and not going to be washed out!

Anyone else notice the bug in YouTube's time codes? Not sure if it's re-encode thing or a UI thing but all the videos I've watched in the last day have a negative timecode offset to start.
