Watched the new Bowie doc. Very odd, touches on Ziggy and Let’s Dance, bypasses Thin White Duke and Berlin periods entirely, then focuses for ages on Tin Machine and 1990s misfires. The last two albums are in depth. Had some footage I’ve never seen before so an interesting take on Bowie who I love.💙

After over five years on the GIC waiting list and three months since diagnosis my GP has just sent my first prescription for estrogen and blocker to the pharmacy. 💙🌈

Taken six phone calls about my daughter’s tube replacement today. We have training booked, need to order new attachments and it is being replaced again on the 22nd.

We have actually had a bit of snow overnight. Not much, but this is as good as it gets down south. I appreciate it, going to take some photos at lunchtime.

My daughter has a new PEG feeding tube which we need to learn. This is the attachment we attach to connect to the mobile set which connects to the milk bag.

Got off at Norwich to see the snow. I haven't stood in settling snow for about five years! 🤗

Rereading some of the Brontës which I was obsessed with as a teenager, I’ve not looked at them for years. There are gothic houses, bleak moors and strong female leads trapped by the patriarchy. Growing up as a repressed, isolated teenager I now understand why I related to them so much.

Second walk of the day, took my daughter for an outing. Lovely and quiet out there.

I always find New Year’s Eve very difficult so I always go to bed early and go for a nice walk first thing when it is quiet and think about my good intentions. I wish everyone a happy 2026, stay in touch and celebrate your joy. Xxx 💙

Just been into town. The Entertainer have started selling Harry Potter toys. Previously they were owned by Christians and they refused to sell HP because they believed it was devilish, but they were taken over by an employee trust this year. So now they sadly finance the wizarding woman.

Went to look at the trains, it is holiday time so they were stabled. There were five 7000s, one 720 and one 387.

1/2 I’ve had a bad year, but I know I did good. I supported colleagues through restructures, mentoring, interviews, gave ND/MH support, made our EDI team recall some of their transphobic guidance. Worked 50hr weeks with no support, burned out enough to ask for a demotion—yet delivered all my work.

2/2 I cared for friends and family, kept my kids at the centre, got up at 3am most days, got through serious MH struggles. I’m exhausted and angry at the hate out there, but still here: job, flat, health. Thanks to my small circle—be weird, celebrate joy, hope 2026 is kinder. Never stop fighting.💙

Someone was going to throw away this 1980s Care Bear so I claimed it as mine. He is called Bedtime Bear, he helps people in Care-a-lot get a good sleep. Since I often randomly fall asleep or shut down at friends’ houses this seems appropriate for me.

This is my childhood bear Paddington. My daughter forgot her soft toy so she slept with Paddington last night, I told her he makes a great companion. 🤗

Went to the computer museum sale. I bought 12 Amstrad and Spectrum games, a PS1 and some GIS books. The PS1 powers up but there is an issue with the RF of my TV but I can fix it. The PostGIS book looks useful but the ArcPy is for Python 2 not 3. Tested the cassette games and ELITE WORKS! 💙💙💙💙

At Kings Cross station the Christmas tree is a new, 30ft tall Harry Potter shop, in addition to the always busy 3/4 shop already there. The size and sheer sides remind me of an intimidating Norman castle with a "you are conquered" vibe. But we will resist.

The Zarbi’s not for turning!

Did some artwork on the computer in MS Paint today just like I used to years ago. I don’t think I enjoyed that style anymore, it seemed simple and scrappy. However it was very useful to remind myself how the software worked for when I decide to do some artwork that I do want to do. :)
