Found this on the side of the road. Almost left it, but then saw that the top opened. So of course I brought it home, cleaned it up, oiled it, and replaced the knobs. And now it (briefly) looks like this. Its real use for me will be as a plant stand, but we needed the rainbow thread pic!

I have successfully done a bookshelf purge. I have 3 tall bookcases in the dining room, and between them I was able to locate 20 books that are ready to go live happier lives somewhere else. This, plus a little rearranging, led to the creation of One Empty Shelf, which I shall fill with plants.

All of this. Plus amazon's new return policy is traaaaash. I have to take anything I want to return to Staples, which is more than an hour of driving for me. They require this even if the item is damaged/defective. They charge for other options. This policy has cut my orders by at least 75%.

The plant I thought was dying has made a bunch of new leaves. This is one of the five good feelings. Others include "happy cat on me," "excellent leftovers in the fridge for lunch," "fresh sheets," and "ooooh, I forgot I'd already done that bit, now I'm ahead of schedule."
