It’s almost a year since I boated through Blisworth Tunnel. 😨🧛🏻‍♀️💀🦇 45 minutes of terrifying darkness. This is where the canal becomes the River Styx. I truly hate it. Many men died making this tunnel, and the anguished screams of their disembodied souls still echo through its dark depths to this day.

It’s another lovely day. ☀️😎🍷 Spring is in full force now, and I’m getting the urge to embark on a serious voyage. Ollie and Seren got me up at 3 this morning. To be fair, I did go to sleep at 5pm, so they were within their rights. If we’re up that time tomorrow, we’ll probably be boating by 6. ⛵️🌍🧭

Ollie and Seren like this mooring. They’re happier here than they would have been on my home mooring. However, I’ve scouted an even better mooring to the north that is currently unoccupied. It’s too windy to move my boat atm. I might go for it in the night and be there for the sunrise!

I was at the helm before it got light this morning, boating in the cold darkness, and was really pissed off to find my mooring occupied by a hire boat. 🤬 So I carried on northwards and have moored in a nice, if isolated spot, just in time to see the sun rise. 🌅 Ollie and Seren will like it here!

I took a walk to scout moorings, and there appears to be a new Mr Swan in town. He’s very young, hasn’t got a girlfriend, and I don’t think he’ll be staying when our established Mr Swan meets him. Good luck to him anyway. There’s plenty of canal without an established swan family. He’ll be okay. 🤞🏻

Looks exactly like a boat in Wales I nearly bought 2 years ago. I'd be in Ireland now if I'd got it, but it wasn't the right time for several reasons. I plan to get something like this in the next couple of years, well before the next election, and I know exactly where I'll be heading. ⛵

For the 2nd time this week, I’ve failed to make an important appointment in London because public transport simply went nonexistent. Wednesday it was the bus. Today it was the trains that decided to do a no show. I am very, very frustrated and upset right now. 😖

It’s a misty start to a very important day, when I’ll catch up with my cancelled appointment from Wednesday and hopefully make a big change to my life. 🤞🏻 I got the dogs up at 4. They weren’t amused. 😄 This has been a mega week that hasn’t gone to plan, but will hopefully finish successfully today!
