@resistancerangers.bsky.social is a group of 1,000 off-duty and former Park Service employees who are pushing back against the Trump administration's mass firings. The group plans actions, shares info about cuts to programs and public lands, and preserves disappearing park web pages.

National Guard troops now patrol NPS sites like the National Mall and Memorial Parks. They're even performing routine work traditionally done by NPS staff, like picking up trash around Lafayette Park, the Tidal Basin, and the Mall. Officials call it a “beautification and restoration mission.”

The Ohio History Connection, which oversees the preservation office, laid off 12 of its employees because it hasn’t received $1.448 million from the National Park Service despite the fact that the money was appropriated on Oct. 1.

The hits keep coming, y’all. In a new move in their continued dismantling of the National Park Service, the Trump administration, hundreds of employees were removed from their position as rangers. Employees were told Friday afternoon they were being “consolidated” to the Department of the Interior.
