2/ Some of this discourse feels like it's just repackaged gender policing. Every time a man does something outside of a very narrow definition of masculinity, people start asking who's "the girl" or implying something about his sexuality. It's weird.

Black people love black characters & black comics. Look at all the love people still give Milestone. There's no good reason for there not being a Mr Terrific ongoing. Black Lightning hasn't had an ongoing in a while. Vixen has never had an ongoing and very much deserves one. And again, MILESTONE!

Black leads comics, especially at the Big two, not selling well is both the fault of the company for not advertising them & white readership who never want to read anything that doesn't have a white lead. You can't call a book bad or unsuccessful if you never bothered buying or reading it.
