I finished s1 of Doctor Who and really liked it! Obviously certain parts of the show are of their time. But the Doctor himself is such a character! And I really like how his dynamic with the different members of his traveling party changes over the course of the show (especially with Barbara).

Everything from Princess Bride to Spinal Tap came with a palpable humanity, no matter the tack or genre. What a legacy! May his memory be a blessing

The best Muppet films for my money are the original Muppet Movie and Muppet Christmas Carol. I don't think it's a coincidence that they both feature music from Paul Williams. His songs like "Rainbow Connection" and "Scrooge" are so essential to the tone, spirit, and ultimate success of those films.

I did this completely by accident, but 'Wake Up Dead Man' and 'Fanny and Alexander' make for a surprisingly well-matched double feature: for the great and terrible power of stories and imagination on the one hand, and for the role of religion and spirituality in our lives on the other.

Wake Up Dead Man is a great film on its own merits. But without giving anything away, it also serves as a reminder that Rian Johnson was, and remains, a brilliant choice to tell stories within Star Wars.
