This is such a me complaint, but while I appreciated seeing Jessica Jones return in Daredevil: Born Again, it's frustrating to me that her character felt like a continuation of the Jessica Jones from s1 of her series, rather than the person who'd changed a fair amount by the end of s3.

Watching Doctor Who for the first time, and I found Susan's farewell surprisngly affecting! She wasn't my favorite member of the original quartet, but her evolving dynamic with her grandfather was the best part of character's growth, and I like the idea of him appreciating her need to put down roots

Finally watched the new Fantastic 4 movie, and it works as a surprisingly good companion piece to James Gunn's Superman film: both in the unabashed embrace of Silver Age concepts, and in the willingness to throw the audience into this wilder world already in progress and trust them to keep up.

Seems like everything's going great with the Doctor Who franchise right now, so it's probably an ideal time for me to end my break and start season 2 of Classic Who! We're headed to the Planet of Giants!

I randomly heard Chuck Mangione's "Feels So Good" twice this week, and I'm taking it as a sign from the universe that I should watch more King of the Hill.

Charlie Cox really steps up his game in the Daredevil revival. To be frank, I'd found him to be the weak link in his own show. But Born Again is even less of an ensemble than the Neflix series, and yet Cox finds different notes to play as Matt Murdock that keep you engaged with the character.

The Star Wars movie Mandalorian and Grogu reminded me the most of was The Ewok Adventure film. Both films are primarily creature features hoping to wow you with neat designs and both are ultimatley about kids stepping up and coming into their own when their parents need them the most.

One of the nice things about Bryan Cranston being a working actor long before Breaking Bad and Malcolm in the Middle is that he'll pop up as a pleasant surprise in everything from That Thing You Do to the Little Women anime.

Season 2 of the Netflix Punisher show was a marked step down from the season 1, but Agent Madani improved a lot between seasons. The character was pretty dull in s1, but the writers found compelling new places to take her in s2, and Amber Rose Revah leveled up her performance to match.
