Want to pay tribute to my railway colleagues who responded to the incident on the LNER train on Saturday, especially to the train crew who were so brave. Credit to the man at the front (the driver) and all operations staff who quickly and calmly diverted the train to stop at Huntingdon.

Hearing loss confirmed at ENT appointment earlier today. Not serious loss, but I will require hearing aids in both ears from now on, so no more whispering or gossiping about me. 🤣🤣

My patience has finally run out with online shopping. While it may often be cheaper, it's also a pain in the arse to wait in for hours on end for parcels that don't arrive with couriers who couldn't care less. Sod it, I would rather pay more and not have hours of my time dripping away like this.

Just had an email telling me my eye test is due again. I really hate going for eye tests. I have more anxiety about eye tests than I ever do about dental appointments... the darkened room with the optician coming into your personal space and looking into your eyes with a torch. Really stresses me.

Merchant Navy Day. My Dad was in the "Merch" so the Red Ensign holds a certain significance to me. Flags mean something bigger & better than shrill nationalism. For me, this flag honours merchant seafarers who brave violent storms to keep us supplied.. who sailed during war so we didn't starve.

Applies to people of all political persuasions and ideologies too. I'm afraid those of us on the liberal/left side cannot claim the higher ground. In recent months I have heard and read comments from all sides that are, at best, a distortion and at worse completely untrue.
