We are super high on Brito! He's got real gap power (as seen below), which helps compensate for a lack of top-end juice. Injuries kept him down last year, but he has hit at every level! Another impact Guardians' prospect?

Five-HR man James Tibbs is our hottest prospect of the week! We talk about his breakout and more in this week's "Daily Pearls" article!

We seemed a bit crazy at the time for putting Lara in our top 40, but he's started off 2026 red hot! He's added a touch of HR power to elevate his strong, all-around game. He's still banging out tons of GB, but we wouldn't be shocked if he climbs into T100S; he's in BA's now!

Tibbs is on an elite-level heater! Our model is still hesitant, as he's an older-than-average prospect without dominant success at lower levels (prior to this point). The Dodgers seem to be making the most of his talents, though. Will he be a model beater?

In part two of our streaks series, we take a look at which prospects ended 2025 hot or cold. Who does our new streaks model believe in? And who are we worried about? With A-AA beginning this week, we've highlighted some guys we think will take a big step!

The most hyped prospect in years will make his debut! Our model puts him at a modest 9th, due in part to only average pitch selection numbers. Don't be surprised if he takes a bit to get going, but remember, he's almost FOUR YEARS younger than JJ Wetherholt! Patience is key!

Fernandez was one of the hottest takes in our T100; we had him 57th overall, where few were willing to put him even in the D-Backs' top 20! His bump in power was what sold us, and his two bombs highlight his gains here. He's catapulted into the mainstream prospect scene in one night!

We are super high on both prospects! Emerson is preferred here with his 2025 power surge, but Pratt showed great plate discipline and decent power as a young AA SS. We think both are destined for great things, and we love these deals!

We talked about this on our podcast spot with @EWPod: this is a unique public forum for judging mistakes by both players and umpires. Both parties will need to keep their heads, knowing that humiliation can and will happen. Umps especially have to avoid pressing after a bad call!

All too often, we get locked in on small samples with prospects, projecting MLB stardom after a hot month. In today's piece, we interrogate hot and cold streaks: When do they matter? Which traits are sticky, which are luck, and which matter less? We get into that and more:

Coming off a hot Spring, Pedro Ramirez is one of baseball's most underappreciated prospects! A good glove and exceptional contact skills are exceptional as one of only 13 qualified hitters 21 or younger in AA or AAA! If he adds a bit of lift (like here), he's a sleeper to be an MLB difference maker!

Our 16th overall prospect and rankings neighbor with fellow Brewer Luis Peña, Made is beyond legit. His power mostly consists of gap shots like these, but once he matures, he'll add even more value as he clears fences. Also playing a solid SS, Made is the real deal!

Our June 2025 take on Lile and Crews may have gotten a little less hot today. Lile is an example of a player who did a lot well at an age well below average, but slid under the radar because his top-line stats weren't exceptional. He broke out late last season and will look to improve in 26!

Rojas is a prime example of how even below average at a young age > above average at an older age. He does the most important thing for young players in avoiding Ks while having no major weaknesses at the plate. Added strength will up his power and those top-line numbers!

The Oyster/Down on the Farm Top 100 has landed! We went in-depth on each prospect, summarizing their projection & play, and showing how we feel relative to the mainstream. Read our breakdown of our modeled T100, from Leo De Vries to Javier Mogollon:

We believe in Freeland and his walk skills! While he lacks serious power or contact upside, the doubles are present enough to ward off pitchers who attack him aggressively. He might struggle to break through with LAD, but we think he has a better shot than most to be a regular!

Ewing is still young, but we see a ton of good in his game! His strong line drive game makes him a gap power maven, but he must work to avoid ground balls, which hurt him in AA last season. Still some distance away from a debut, but his solid Spring will give him a boost!

Teasing our soon-to-debut website with our take on Max Clark! We like his style of play, but are a bit hesitant to be full believers with the bat, as so much of his value still comes from walks. If he finds a bit more gap/HR pop, he'll rise fast, especially with his top glove!

We are still sticking with Ford! Despite a few good but not fantastic minor league seasons and some catching glove ambiguity, Ford presents a high-upside combo of power and discipline. As you can see from a teaser of our new site + rankings, we back Ford to seize the Nats C job!

Post-Season 2024, we debuted Hot Take Tuesday with the aggressive claim that McGonigle was a top 5 hitting prospect. One season later, he's a consensus top 5 guy, and he turned that XBH into HR! True K zone understanding + a good hit tool both scale up well with maturity!

Ye ole Oyster Model loved Manzardo! He's an example of two things: mature HR power often takes some time to surface in MLB, and 1B have to be top-notch hitters to generate massive value. Note Manzardo's high floor (with our old scale) and relatively lower ceiling.

We're hard at work on our preseason top 100! What's one take that you think our model has bang on? And who will we regret missing the boat on?

There he goes again! With maturity comes strength and power, and he has hit over a quarter of last year's 7 HR total in Spring Training. Even if homers don't come as a teen, they might come later. We'll see if he can maintain his momentum into the regular season!

Pumped for Tuesday, when our bit on the Braves Today podcast with @crosbybaseball.bsky.social goes live! Had tons of fun talking about hot prospect John Gil, Nacho Alvarez's bounceback odds, and why we missed on Drake Baldwin!

Rodriguez showed off his elite patience (got to 2-0) before his + bat speed punished a mistake. Jenkins (the fellow Twin knocking on the door) is more well-rounded, but if Rodriguez can elevate the ball at or near Jenkins' level, Rodriguez's massive EVs will translate to HR!

We don't doubt that more massive HR will be in Jones' future, but we are wary of his sky-high K rates. Without Judge-esque patience, he'll need to find an OBP tool to complement his elite power, and at his age, it's challenging. If he blooms late, he's got a superstar ceiling!

Michael Arroyo's big bat is his calling card, and he's the first prospect to make a splash in Spring Training! His positional future is more in doubt, but as a well-rounded hitter and exceptional lifter, expect balls to keep leaving the yard in 2026!

The NL Central's glut of hitting prospects makes their organizations among those to keep an eye on in 2026, and today's piece focuses on the names we'll be closely following. Big slugging bats, elite catchers, and young phenoms galore!

Josuar Gonzalez is the prime example of how our model is difficult to sway based on purely DSL stats. We personally think that his high ceiling tools make him a notable prospect, but his performance in the DSL was not in the "beyond elite" tier. He's a guy we will be watching in '26!

This #hottaketuesday, we're in on John Gil; he's in the top 50 for us! Gil is a well-rounded RHH SS who upped both his contact % and ISO in A-ball at age 19. He struggled in his AA cameo, but he's previously overcome level-up struggles. More pop would take him to the next level!

Clifford projects as an elite-level bat! He's got big power and excellent discipline, even in the upper minors. His average contact skills are rare for his demonstrated power and age, and he's one of the top-upside bats out there. We think he's a sleeper to make a big MLB debut!

New Pirates OF Jhostynxon "the Password" Garcia has a rare contact & HR combo with solid fielding skills. The heat will be on his swing and miss, and chase; a 35.7% chase rate in AAA is a bit spooky. Still, the tools are there, and he's a young 23YO with time!

Ah-Ah-Ah! Today, we (and Count von Count) are here to talk about why count advantages and disadvantages aren't quite what they seem! While good counts are better than bad, accounting for factors like P&H quality and times through order shrinks the gap!

This #hottaketuesday, we have a fun thread in honor of the Winter Olympics... in what winter sports would the game's top prospects best fit? Shout out to Eddy Alvarez, Olympic Speed Skater/ MLB utility threat! (Also, no AI used here; this is purely from the Oyster brain trust)

Our old model (with lower standards) loved the just-traded Durbin! His low-K, high XBH approach played up well in the show, and his defense at third was decent as well. A low-EV hitter, adding more walks to complement his good discipline, could help him further improve!
