In keeping with the general themes of our marriage, yesterday Shawna and I celebrated our 20 year anniversary by walking about 14 miles of coastline. I feel so so so incredibly lucky to be married to such an incredible partner in adventure!

Our cat Gabby jumped up on the couch, unexpectedly landed by glasses that shifted, and panicked. She leapt partially over my head and I nearly lost an eye. As it is I’ve got a cool face battle wound like a CRPG character that will hopefully heal up cleanly.

Today we wrapped our Pathfinder 2e Strength of Thousands campaign. The front part of the game was a big (tweaked) final fight, then I grabbed a giant glass of water and took them through the epilogue, and I was really happy with how it turned out. The campaign was almost 3 years, and it was great!

Azul is an amazing travel game. Just get a 1-gallon ziplock bag, and the boards, rules, and disks, all fit into it perfectly, with no need for the big box!

We still mask indoors or around large crowds, but don’t judge others for not masking. Every so often someone sees us, and dramatically coughs in our direction, and it is just the silliest response. I’m like: “I definitely made the right call to wear a mask if you are sick!”

20 years ago today, I started working full time at Bungie. I had spent a year doing network testing on Halo 2, and stayed on after ship with a few others for customer support and cheat investigations. Eventually I was asked “Did I hear you had a CS degree?” And had an opportunity to interview. 1/4

This is an interesting topic, but there are some big differences with games vs movies that make consistent processes much harder to achieve. (As I’m talking about this keep in mind that I’m also an outsider to films).

Gastronauts is currently my favorite show on Dropout. Combine some of the positivity of British Bake Off with the some of the strangest & most amazing food challenges I’ve ever seen, then add a rotating panel of funny judges, and it adds up to something really great.

If you go down to the Redmond-Woodinville valley, just north of the Willows golf course about 20 mins before sunset, you can see a colony of thousands upon thousands of crows, and feel like the Prophesied One.
