I think a lot of the appeal of Roguelikes to me is lost on later 'Roguelites' because the mystique of the genre is having an extremely chaotic and unforgiving early game, a strategic but open midgame, and an endgame which is easy because it requires you to be fully cheesed anyway.

Gonna see if I can beat Nethack again. Only ever beat midgame through early wishes before so I have to see if I can power through with actual good gameplay.

I work full-time but I do double shifts so I have the enviable 4-day-workweek. Every time I enter "production mode" I become extremely stressed for weeks on end followed by a period of burnout. I terms of opportunity-cost. I lose several thousand dollars a year publishing and selling comics.
