I think the bicycle industry and advocates should abandon the use of "e-bike" when referring to an electric assisted bicycle. E-bicycle should be a protected phrase, like Champagne, to only mean road legal electric bicycles which are treated the same as bicycles. Tell me why I'm wrong.

This is patently not an ‘e-bike’. Garda press office should call it a powerful e-moto. Media please get terminology for bicycle shaped objects right. I ride an e-bike limited by law to not exceed 25km/h (motor power cut-out). It has no twist throttle.
