I’ve posted this a million times, too many people forgot what social media was like before the algorithm spoon fed you you can have cool stuff on your timeline if you actually follow people posting cool stuff it’s that easy

I think the experience of being a millenial or younger, is that every time you find your footing, and think you’re finally doing well, everything (housing, healthcare, economy, world stability etc) gets infinitely harder, worse and out of reach. This is what I get for looking at SF home prices. 💀

In CSP, if you're using vector lines & want to have less control points on a line, find the "Simplify vector line" tool & draw over said line with it. It'll make it so there's less points to work with. It'll alter the line shape, but even so, it's a lifesaver for adjusting or straightening lines.

Keep a “secret” sketchbook that really is just for sketching and not for sharing on social media. Make it messy, copy other people’s art, and draw from life. It’s just for you, just for practice! (Don’t be intimidated by what some people call sketchbooks that are filled with insta-worthy work.)

If you use a lot of layers and use Clip Studio Paint, select the Operation Tool and click on what you're trying to find and it will take you to the layer

another CSP hack: auto actions are your friend, if you find yourself doing certain tasks often. I've got a few for different chromatic aberration effects, making a "grid of thirds" for composition, coloring my line art, and a contrast checker that throws up a monotone blending layer, for examples

ctrl+shift+click on any part of your drawing with your pen and it'll automatically bring you to that layer (works in basically every program on pc). Changed my life

Scanning glossy/textured surfaces: scan twice, the 2nd time rotating your paper 180º. Put the two scans as layers in PS, then Edit>Auto-Align Layers. Set top layer to Lighten for texture, Darken for glare, or Normal at 50% opacity. More on this old blog post: pigswithcrayons.com/process/bits...

i frequently change up the backgrounds for my canvas between different colors to avoid getting too bored, when doodling digitally. sometimes it's different paper textures, or gradients, or plain colors helps avoiding an artblock. with traditional jumping between sketchbooks has the same effect
