Four episodes into Pluribus. Really quite enjoying it.

It's the national year of reading in the uk in 2026. Instead of asking "why don't kids read any more", ask "how can I help them find the stories (and non fic) they will fall in love with". Less "get off my lawn whippersnappers" and more "come, sit on the lawn, here's a comic".

Got up, watched the last Stranger Things with my family. We rather liked it.

Second play of Beer Pioneers. Brewing beer in Germany circa 1850. Lots going on, but it's super smooth in play. A table-filler euro, but lighter than its BGG rating we think. Love it! 😀

This year (he said, counting up) I've read 29 books, 6 novellas, and 17 short stories. Almost all new stuff (well, to me) and just a few rereads of old favourites. My favourite reads this year: The Devils by Joe Abercrombie King Sorrow by Joe Hill Angelmaker by Nick Harkaway All marvellous!

A somewhat halfhearted good morning from the chilly shores of frigid Retailia, where certain foolish hardware shops decided to open up today, despite the fact that everyone with a single ounce of good sense has stayed at home in bed. I suspect trade will be...light. Putting the kettle on 👍

In snow and ice, a serious swathe of Brookwood cemetery has been destroyed, and my players spent a freezing night in the damaged necropolis train station praying for the morning train to arrive. SAN loss and wounds might be the least of their worries. Marvellous fun 🙂

First Xmas film of the year is one we've seen before. Extremely daft, but fun 🙂

Whilst I'm sure you've imagined the glamorous life of an ironmonger - the champagne, the lavish parties, the complimentary hotel suites, that sort of thing - the truth is closer to a customer who pays £2 instead of £1.60, says keep the change, and then gives me 5 assorted sweets out of his pocket. 😂

This weekend's RPG task is prep for my group's outing (let's just say it plainly - raid/rescue mission) on the necropolis railway out to Brookwood cemetery on Monday night in Cthulhu by Gaslight. An ageless priest, a kidnapped psychic, a precious stone of unspeakable evil - and a huge graveyard. 🙂
