Someone I used to work with has a video posted saying that they are not a racist, a member of a cult, Nazi, etc. Made me think a bit: never once in my life have I ever felt as if I needed to defend myself by posting such a testimonial. We’re so screwed.

Someone close to me got the flu and had to stay home for 4 days a couple weeks ago. Today they asked me to borrow $$ to buy food. This is disgusting in the (checks notes) “greatest country in the world.”

Writers, authors, scholars, professors, teachers: I need compelling persuasive/argumentative NONFICTION texts my students can read and study in ordered to better understand the genre. Preferably no more than 10 pages and about issues that are current.
