Photo by Pierre Lavie. Yes this is me. And I threw my Leica. It landed on the bass plate with hardly a scratch. Another Photographer grabbed it along with my phone and I was able to track him later. I was held face down tear gas deployed right in front of me and pepper sprayed directly into the eye.

Beyond the politics of it — I can’t imagine that for the majority of artists there’s any benefit to being on that site. The algo kills outside links, you have to pay to reach your followers, it suppresses whatever it sees fit, and now it’ll eat up your artwork…??

I first saw the band in 2002 at a benefit show and was showered in beer by Karen and fell in love with the band even though I was there for Jon Spencer Blues Explosion. Some film pics of that performance are linked in that post.
