34/60 ‘Death Wish’ Q has a wonderful and complete character arc in #StarTrek TNG, but this appearance in Voyager is still one of his best. The moral quandary is juicy and it balances the seriousness with fun. Our mortality might be scary, it also makes our lives so very precious 🖖

Sometimes I like tossing out random movie suggestions. ‘Pride’ (2014) is upbeat and heartwarming while taking on serious subject matter. There was obviously more to the real life events that inspired the movie, but the excellent cast, charm and heart make it worth watching 🏳️‍🌈

33/60'The Measure of a Man' #StarTrek does do an excellent court-room drama from time to time. The question of Data's rights and personhood make something very abstract immediate and emotional. Does Trek's legal system make total sense? Not really. The tone is very TNG, and Picard gets to speechify🖖

31/60 'Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow' Do I love James T. Kirk? Yes. Is it fun to visit contemorary Earth? Yes. Do the actors have exellent chemitry with each other? Yes. Do we get action, heartbreak and (dare I say) fan-service? Yes. This was immediatly a new #StarTrek classic for me❤️

30/60 'The City on the Edge of Forever' Reaching the halfwaypoint of the list and problably the most obvious pick for it. I needed a few times before I 'got' why this episode is so great. The acting from our star-crossed lovers is so exceptional you forget how brief their time together is❤️ #StarTrek

A horribly underrated movie is ‘Casanova’ from 2005 starring Heath Ledger❣️

29/60 ‘The Inner Fight/Old Friends, New Planets’ I love Beckett Mariner, and this is where her character arc peaks. Her heart to heart with Ma’ah and the flashback to the Academy are👏awesome👏 In addition to that and the usual LDS fun, we also get some real good action. #StarTrek is great you guys❣️

28/60 ‘In Purgatory’s Shadow/By Inferno’s Light’ DS9 has several exemplary two-parters and this is my favorite ❤️ Garak and Tain’s relationship is a big reason why. Worf, Martok and Bashir all get their moments too, and the big step forward in the Dominion War makes this very impactful #StarTrek🖖

27/60 ‘Chain of Command Part 1&2’ A stand out #StarTrek two-parter from TNG. The acting from Sir Patrick and David Warner is simply superb, and the storyline one of the most visceral and memorable in Trek 💡 There is also the way both the crew and audience respond to Jellico, which is fascinating 🖖

I finally got around to reading the rest of the story with @hankgreen.bsky.social ‘Beautifully Foolish Endeavor’ 📖 It has plenty of interesting ideas to think about, fun action, and is most importantly uplifting and encouraging. We only have each other after all, and do all the best things together🤝

The Vulcan Trilogy counts as one piece of #StarTrek here, and is an excellent one. Enterprise took the Vulcans in a new direction, and here they set them on their path to the future🖖

A movie that has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember is ‘Lady and the Tramp’ 🐾 After 70 years not everything holds up, but for the most part it’s such a lovely film 🐾

25/60 'Star Trek: First Contact' A month late we get to First Contact Day! #StarTrek is multifaceted, and the second movie on the list brings on the adrenaline. A real crowd pleaser with time-travel shenanigans, Borg action and Picard picking up the Capt. Ahab mantle 🌎 Bombastic and fun is also good

Back again to some old-school, classic #Sci-Fi with the fist of Isaac Asimov’s robot novels ‘The Caves of Steel’. The Noir Detective vibes are strong and you get some cool sci-fi ideas as well 🤖 The characters do behave largely as if they’re from the 50’s, so keep that in mind 🕵️

Just a little reminder that Legally Blonde is a terrific movie and this icon graced the world with her wisdom for the first time 25 years ago this year 🩷

24/60 ‘The Enterprise Incident’ Season 3 of #StarTrek has an unflattering reputation, but it does have some absolute gems. Spock and the Romulan Comander are so fun to watch together, Shatner gets to have a lot of fun as Kirk and it’s just a top tier episode🖖It has chemistry, comedy and some action

As someone who would probably consider The Clone Wars my favorite piece of #StarWars, Maul Shadow Lord has been very good so far. The visuals reach new levels, the steady build of the character development satisfying and the crime syndicate plot compelling 🪐 Sam Witwer’s performance is sensational

20/60 ‘Metamorphosis’ Low on the action but brining up the emotions. A unique love story and a reminder to Capt. Kirk that empathy and communication solves many problems brute force can’t ❤️ Zefram Cochrane and The Companion certainly make a memorable #StarTrek couple

Dwight Schultz is a delight, Marina Sertis is a warm and lovely presence, and our #StarTrek Voyager regulars get to have fun with the slightly different versions of themselves 🛰️Finally, the call home also delivers an emotional gut punch

Still down the Sherlock Holmes rabbit hole, and have added watching some Jeremy Brett as Holmes to supplement my re-reads 📚 With several strong points to the show Mr. Brett’s performance is the undeniable crowning achievement 🔎

17/60 ‘The Wire’ Garak is one of the most compelling characters in #StarTrek. This episode is Andrew Robinson’s first big chance to truly shine, and the moment Dr. Bashir becomes the character he would be for the rest of the he show. The writing and acting is top tier 🖖 “Especially the lies”

More #sci-fi reading, this time the first of the Lady Astronaut novels ‘The Calculating Stars’. The space exploration is fun and the alternate history angle is fascinating, if maybe a little limited by the 1st person POV 👩‍🚀Also, with a married couple at the center this book is surprisingly steamy 🚀
