Finding the right book for a kid is the best feeling. Especially when it takes a few tries but then their faces just light up when you find them something that's exactly what they want. #LibraryLife

Went 1-2 at #FridayNightMagic this week but my one win was the most beautiful and absurd thing and it made me so happy.

Best part of this was this afternoon when I took the books down but left up the signs and the empty book easels (cos I have a new display going up) and one kid thought I was making a statement with my BANNED MIDDLE GRADE FICTION signs and a clearly empty display.

Doing a banned books project with part of our 6th grade. Very angry children asking me WHY certain things are banned places. "Every reason for banning a book is bad! All of them! It's all ridiculous!" - me, all day yesterday and today.

Today in #LibraryLife there was a spirited discussion about what does or does not count as pizza...followed by a mildly concerning amount of time discussing what would meet the definition of cannibalism. 8th graders are weird, y'all

It's a Festivus miracle. A snow day on the last school day before break! Of course, this means no Airing of Grievances, but I'll allow it.

I bought stuff from @peculiarityshop.bsky.social as gifts and I'm pretty sure I'm getting something(s) as gifts and also maybe I ordered myself another pretty this morning because, well, I wanted to. And winter is hard, sometimes.

Opening 1 #MagicTheGathering booster pack every day or so is a very good dopamine burst. I really need to turn some of my cards into money for more packs so I can continue this.

Work is very unfun today and I am trying not to lose it but wow. Not a great way to start off the new marking period, kids. I'm hoping hanging out with the #MagicTheGathering club kids after school will help my mood. If I make until 3:30.

This afternoon I was at a #MagicTheGathering prerelease event for the Avatar set and it was so much fun and I wish I'd thought of doing bracelets like @seananmcguire.bsky.social did but also I would NOT have had enough.
