TIL that when you have a flight credit on Delta you have to use it BEFORE the expiration date and not ON the expiration date. For...reasons. I would have thought that "must redeem by 9/30" meant it was redeemable on 9/30 because otherwise it would have said "must redeem before 9/30"

Just pulled a Spider-Gwen from my Spider-Man #MTG booster. Thought of @seananmcguire.bsky.social, naturally.

Today I played #MagicTheGathering for the first time in decades. It was fun! I went to a prerelease event and played 2 headed giant. Both new things! And when I said I hadn't played in like 25 years people literally just said "welcome back."

Y'all, HR just emailed me telling me they've accidentally given me extra vacation days and they are taking them back and I am SO MAD.

Sitting outside in the sun for 15 or 20 minutes is really helping my mental state this week at work. Also it allows me to warm up briefly after sitting in the icebox that is the library.

Library remains freezing and it's 80 and sunny outside so I went outside for 20 minutes to eat my lunch and that was probably the best possible thing I could have done for myself.

Day 9 of the school year and I'm already tired of the library being freezing. Anyone want to get me a kotatsu to replace my desk?

I've been opening MTG boosters one at a time since I got those boxes of Final Fantasy and Edge of Eternities. And then I got a box of Aetherdrift. I am going to a 2 Headed Giant Spider-Man prerelease event. My Tropical Island went to @seananmcguire.bsky.social and now look what's become of me.

The walk is tomorrow morning. I've already raised more than twice my goal but why not keep going?

So I spent this weekend with friends. We went to IKEA in Paramus, then to NYC to see DEATH BECOMES HER Saturday night (it has dethroned MOULIN ROUGE! as "most fun I have had at a show"). And then yesterday we did the Museum of Broadway and then went to the closing performance of GYPSY at 3. 😍😍😍

So @seananmcguire.bsky.social recently received one of my 2 MtG cards worth money. I haven't played in...a very long time. My brother got me a starter bundle of FF Magic cards and a starter bundle of Edge of Eternities oh no. Gotta sell my Wheel of Fortune to the local game store now.

I was awakened this morning at 7:45 by SURPRISE roofers (we knew they were coming but not what day or time) making SURPRISE loud noises and I worry this does not bode well for my day/week. A sensory NIGHTMARE.

Every summer before #SDCC I'm all "woo, con time yay!" and then after it's suddenly AUGUST and I'm going "OH NO SUMMER IS ALMOST OVER WHAT DO" Even though my summer is half over. I have all of August left! But my brain is still going "OH NOOOOOO"

Another #SDCC in the books. Got to interact with a bunch of authors like @charliejane.bsky.social, @seananmcguire.bsky.social, and @chucktingle.bsky.social. Saw some cool stuff. Bought some cool art. Gave out bracelets. I think I need to sleep for a week.

So the Immortal Universe panel is giving away the little Talamasca business cards with the QR code but it just leads to the website but they said "for the giveaway" anybody at #SDCC know anything more about this?

TIL you can get through airport security without a single bit of ID. IT WAS NOT A FUN DISCOVERY. But my wallet got to me literal minutes before I boarded the plane.

Soooo they announced that GYPSY is closing next month and I saw it in March but 2 friends decided to go to the final performance and, well, I have a ticket to the final performance as well because I am ridiculous and YOLO. I get to see Audra again. 😍

I reread LOUDER THAN HUNGER by @mrschureads.bsky.social for the final book of the year with our 6th grade book club. Yes, I just read it 6 months ago but that was like 72 books ago and also it's worth it because it's so good and so moving.

One of my coworkers died today and this is a brand new and extremely unfun thing to experience and I am so, so sad right now. And everyone at school is going to be so, so sad tomorrow. Adults and kids.

Sometimes I think about how I used to write all the time and then I look around at my life where the most consistent writing I do is Petfinder profiles for rescue dogs...
