Heartbreaking to see this. Programs like DH Advancement Grants, Dangers & Opportunities, and Institutes (IATDH) have been essential for expanding computational knowledge to humanities fields & enriching computational fields with humanities knowledge.

Chris’s story is the story of the many ways in which the NEH supported students, teachers, scholars across the country. How incredibly valuable it was, in spite of the always way too limited amount of funding available. Closing it is a clear case of vandalism.

Thanks. Many people don't understand the incredible limitations constraining federal employees. They often can't advocate for themselves or their agencies, either due to Hatch Act concerns, fear of reprisal, &/or a strong sense of professionalism. Hope I'm able to help as best I can.
