Interesting to see that the news wins over social media as a way to come across information in science in Sweden. Even more so in Finland, and comparable in Denmark and Norway. How's it going 2025? A snapshot from today The kids need ice skates at school. I tear the house apart searching for them. No skates. My six year old informs me I don't care about him and points at me with disdain when a friend asks why he forgot his skates. The skates are in my husband's closet.

“Never underestimate your audience’s intelligence, always underestimate their vocabulary” is a rule I teach in my workshops. And part of this is tone. Don’t act like your audience (family or not) is stupid for not knowing 15-syllable science words.

Another panel in the #ForumförForskningskommunikation - about #AI in #scicomm. A good tip was not to try to learn it all (impossible) but use it 5 minutes a day and learn a bit here and there as you go. I would like to get better at prompting, visuals, task planning, specific 'personalities'...

Participating online in the #ForumförForskningskommunikation 2024 this afternoon. There was a poll about what research communicators should work with - press, coaching, crisis communication, collaboration were towards the top of the ranking. Interestingly, not a close match to my ranking. #scicomm

Another thing I've done in my job is find ways to bring my 📸 obsession into my work. Through my work as a content developer and research communicator at Curiosum science center I have had the privilege to take photos of the local researcher's night & then seeing them in official reports ❤️ #scicomm
