Demoing Wunder at GaMaYo last night went reallyyyy well!! Almost everyone who played it wanted to be in the beta 😭 I've got 2 weeks to polish and add more to the demo before locking in for the open playtest in Jan, currently on track for next fest in Feb and release in Mar/Apr

Gonna be at GaMaYo today demoing Wunder, still on a rollercoaster of confidence but I'm on one of the high bits atm It's getting really close to landing the Slay the Spire x Balatro concept (I think)

A big reason proc gen feels so different to AI in spite of superficial similarities is exactly this!! Proc Gen systems reflect the interests and creative preferences of the tool makers, whereas AI is catch-all sludge that reflects no specific point of view. It’s not remotely the same!

ngl, if this is the case then it's likely important to assume I won't be buying games from companies that have CEOs :/ (which is like, all of them right 😅) I do wish there was a way around how much I lose any desire to play a game with genAI use involved but I just don't see it.

Look, it’s really straightforward to get a publisher as a new name indie in 2025. Simply do 95% of the work making and marketing your game, and if your metrics are trending towards almost certain success, a publisher will swoop in to promise the remaining 5%, deliver 3%, and collect 75%

I've managed to actually be consistent-ish-ly streaming the longest when I go live in a bit, and it's only been 5 work days I genuinely don't know how people stream full-time o.o for now at least it is boosting rather than sapping productivity!

I keep daydreaming about adding a bunch of new areas to Echo before releasing the DX version, but I'd need to do a big refactor of the playdate version to add them and I would hate to not have them on the playdate as well :/

I really like corpse run mechanics but I'd love to see different takes on it, like an enemy taking your stuff and hiding it so when you go back and beat them, you find a treasure map leading you back to it.

Silksong level design spoiler! I don't agree that team cherry put cruel traps and pranks in levels, they made groups of mean bugs and then the bugs did it. Like that hunters marsh bench... The ants did it, team cherry didn't!

Hearing stuff like this genuinely makes me so happy, I'm still a ways off releasing something new but I can't wait!

I honestly don't know how to equate the general discussion around Silksong with the game I'm playing, imo it might be the greatest game I've ever played. I saw the review that gave it a 3/5 and it's just confused me so much 😅 it might just be a small amount of people who feel that way though.

Apologies for only posting about silksong purchase woes today 😅 After about 5 hours with the game I can say it really is everything I hoped it would be, it's making me really wanna do metroidvania dev again (which is great cause I still have a port to finish making haha)

This was absolutely what I kept in mind when making Echo, I had a lot of people pre-launch say something similar. I honestly don't really believe a genre can be too saturated to do well, it just depends on why you're making it (and a lot of luck), that always comes through in the end.
