Turns out that compiling my zig game for the apple watch in release mode is buggy for some reason — it works fine in debug mode. I'll need to debug further but for now I'll release in debug I guess.

Turns out the export keyword is not required in the Zig main function but I remember seeing it in the hello world. I was having some trouble with it when compiling to wasm, that’s why I had a small C wrapper. Now that I don’t export main it works like a charm, no more C code.

On this journey to making a game in Zig I’ve learned that in the end everything is just C. You can have whatever syntactic sugars and abstractions you want but then export your code to simple functions and it’s magically multiplatform.
