The 2 Lesser Scaup are at Herriottās Bridge, lakeside. Also 2f Gt Scaup there and Osprey not long ago. An Avocet has been swimming around in front of Stratford hide (!) and the Ring-necked Duck is still at Blagdon. Quite a few Swallows and House Martins today.

Terrific to see the Bonaparteās Gull at Cheddar today, along with Scaup and Little Gull. Then Wheatear and LRP on Tealham, Pochard x Tufted hybrid on Glastonbury Heath, and a RN Duck at Long Drove.

A long day out around Yeovil: Black Redstart in Wyndham Estate, displaying Goshawk, 4 Red Kites, Water Rail (at last), Cetti's Warbler a pair of Firecrest possibly holding territory. Finished off at Riverside with Woodcock and 4 calling Jack Snipe leaving roost after dusk

A second attempt to photograph the Drake Common Scoter, at Blagdon Lake today, was a surprise as they are usually one day birds. But, Iām glad it stuck around, showed well for this species locallyā¦.although the flap was a bit distantā¦#UKBirds

Ham Wall this am: Ring-necked Duck from the mini viewing platforms just east of the railway bridge, and at vp1, Peregrine, Spotred and Ruff. 2 Cranes from the reopened Avalon hide. A large flock of Sand Martins went through mid-morning.
