The new basketball courts at Sturgis Recreation Center are now open! It was my privilege to bring over $200,000 back to our community. With the help of the Olney Community Collaborative, we have these beautiful basketball courts where kids, families, and neighbors can gather and build connections.

Great news! Thanks to your voice, we were able to get SEPTA’s Route 57 to continue on loop every hour beginning this August. This is a huge win for Olney and Melrose Park Gardens as it will help get so many of our neighbors where they need to go in a timely manner.

On Memorial Day, I attended ceremonies at the Philadelphia Protestant Home and VFW 2819 in Lawncrest to offer remarks expressing gratitude and appreciation to the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in protecting our nation.

I was proud to help secure $500K in funding for OCCCDA. They'll use this funding to expand the Carnell Family Resource Center, a school-embedded initiative providing social-emotional learning, trauma-informed mental-health services to support students and caregivers at Carnell Elementary.

Too many people have to choose between their paycheck and their family. Last week, we passed the Family Care Act in the PA House to change that, giving workers up to 12 weeks off to care for a new child, a loved one, or themselves during major life moments.

Our city is safer today because we’ve taken action. From securing state funding to supporting law enforcement and community-based solutions, we’ve been intentional about reducing violence.

Today, I partnered with my colleague @repdougherty.com to bring critical resources directly to seniors in Northeast Philadelphia. Together, we hosted a SEPTA fare card event at Saint Thomas Indian Orthodox Church.

My resolution honoring the iconic boxing match in 1971 between Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier, dubbed the "Fight of the Century" passed the House this week. Ali and Frazier are two of the greatest boxers of all time, and both did tremendous philanthropic work and have significant ties to Pennsylvania.

I was proud to vote in favor of a bill to increase Pennsylvania’s minimum wage to $15 per hour by 2029, which also includes an option for counties to implement a $15 per hour wage sooner.
