I'm watching the "Never let me go" movie and it's one of the worst adaptations I've ever seen.

I'm half way through The Farthest Shore because I decided to read 3 books at the same time. The way the magic users are described when magic disappears feels like how people become after they surrender to ai in the modern age. Book is from the 70s, its not about that....but

I finished Never Let You Go. Book 15 for the year. Someone on pagebound commented that they "dont need a book to tell them all human life is valuable." I don't think you need a story to tell you much of anything. I found that kind of irritating.

Today's energy is bad. Sleep ruined, one of the books I ordered seems to be lost in the mail. It was out for delivery on Saturday and never got updated. Bleh

I am determined to finish Never Let Me Go today. 70 pages left.

I see some people claim to read an absurd number of books in a year like 300 to 500 and really...I'm unsure I believe they retain any of that info. It was funny to see someone claim they just read quickly and then immedietly have reading comprehension issues responding to a statement.

Does anyone happen to know if reading the T. Kingfisher paladin series is necessary in order? I got book 3 at a friend's suggestion but I hadn't known it was a series. I ask because it seems like the books aren't a continuous story but I'm unsure.

I hate that I just like collecting things. As much as I am reading these books I bought, I also just enjoy seeing that I have them. I hate that it's never enough and I have no room whatsoever.

Reading goals for the year that will happen whenever: Finish the Earthsea Books, read the LOTR trilogy, Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell, The Iliad, Gilgamesh and the various short books I have about Roman daily life. Everything else is gravy.

Last year, I told someone I did not like fantasy media. I still would not consider my go to genre, but after having read more, I think I just dont like mideval fantasy (usually) and I am not the largest fan of magic. I need to learn to be more careful with my words.

I finished 3 books in 3 days. It was a series. The first book was VILE but given the subject matter, it had to be I guess. The other 2 mostly didn't have what made the first one so uncomfortable. Damn, I havent had my attention held like that in a long time. 13 books so far this year.

The best compliment I can give anything is "it let me turn my brain off." Who cares about flaws, my show is on (this can be about anything, im think this about a book rn)

I finished an 11th book. I won't say what though because I'm embarrassed to have read something like that. I read it in a day so I'm at least happy I have come far enough in my reading journey to be able to read 250+ pages in a day. Still working through Fellowship too.

I started reading The Fellowship of the Ring and Searoad at the same time. I tried Fellowship last year but I only got 100 pages in. It is a drag to read (not because of the subject matter, but every page is so dense with words it takes a while to get anywhere). Searoad is interesting.

I signed up for a Star Trek convention. The Jeffery Combs gatcha will be right at home!

It's funny when you can pick up a book or a comic and tell exactly what the creators taste is. In this case it was opposite mine. Welp.

Finished 10th book. Don't Let the Forest In. It had...a lot of issues. I did kind of enjoy it but I also got irritated at so much about it.

And so I have learned,even if something says "go in blind" I have to check the setting to make sure it isn't one I hate. I'm 35 and don't want to read about teenagers at a boarding school.

Rewatching DS9. Season 1 is the "everyone's hair is in a weird place" season.

Finished my 9th book of the year. A Thousand Ships is the telling of the stories of the women involved in the Trojan War. I mostly enjoyed it. I view all these Greek re-imaginings as fan fiction and I feel this mostly worked. The Penelope chapters were disappointing.

I did not cry today, but I am thinking about how there is no more Nala for my mom to sing her Nala song to.

It is deffo looking like we're going to have to put one of the cats down today. I am not equipped to deal with that kind of change right now. Ah damn.

Sometimes I read good things and fear I will never make anything good. In those times I wish I had no desire to make anything at all.

Finished my 8th book this year. I don't know that I've read a ton of translated books, but Heaven Official's Blessing 1 is ROUGH in the translation department. The last page of the second to last chapter and the last chapter itself were the best parts. Everything felt like reading bad fanfiction.

I am more than half way through volume one of TGCF. I am going to read beyond this volume because I am enjoying the story, but I can't tell if the translation is just...uninspired or if the writing is that level of simplistic or both. I don't know if I should laugh or cry

I don't usually complain about things like this, but the new COTL update makes the game crashed way more now and I'm getting frustrated. I think it crashed 7 times on me today.

Once again social security did not call me during my scheduled appointment. Were they kind of a mess before? Yeah. They're way worse now. Wasting my time twice now.

Xppen what the hell is this crap?? I already couldn't get this working because of a new and common glitch from a windows update, but now the calibration is borked with no way to fix it because they remove that option once you use it a single time.

I think a lot about how Chapter Black in YuYu Hakusho has the punch ripped out of it in the modern world. I can see the world's atrocities on my phone whenever.

I think I'm going to sell off a lot of my blind box figures. I like what I have, but 2 years ago I went through a rather aggressive phase of collecting and I just DO NOT NEED ALL THIS.
