I was able to ID 31 tree species this weekend in the woods around the lodge, and I also saw at least one hickory but I don’t know those well enough to ID yet. So at least 32!

Rather tipsy and holding a cupcake on the street at SXSW, I stop the Black Keys as they’re walking by to excitedly say something like “hey! Ithinkyou’rereally GREAT!” . Dan says “oh thanks! but no thank you” nodding at the cupcake in my hand, so I say “oh the cupcake’s not for you.” 🤦🏻‍♀️

Everything is terrible but we're going to a music festival in Miami next month and they just announced a 33 hour marathon afterparty. Vacation got off to a little bit of a bumpy start when the local skunk woke me up by spraying RIGHT outside our bedroom window but officially off to the mountains and woods for the XXL weekend

A few weeks ago Fern caught a huge skink that risked a visit to the screened-in catio (it was okay, we released it into the garden). Yesterday I bought her this big wind-up lizard cat toy in petco - zero interest. But guess who caught another huge live lizard and brought it into the house today 🤦🏻‍♀️
