In our new study, @rozemarijnvandijk.bsky.social and I looked at who gets interrupted during debates in the parliaments of 🇦🇺🇭🇷🇬🇧. We find that women and men get interrupted just as often. 10/ The government plans deep funding cuts while limiting universities' ability to attract international students. This leaves universities trapped: dependent on student numbers for funding but unable to expand or sustain programs.

8/ The real problem is a funding model driven mostly by student demand in a small country. Programs in Dutch literature or foreign languages often lose out because fewer students choose them. Yet political discourse blames universities for "abandoning" these fields.
