In order to successfully pitch the maze-scrolling concept of Jr. Pac-Man, GCC crafted a cardboard prototype designed so pulling on the sides would reveal more of the maze displayed in the center.

If it’s not a new 3D Mario, the fanbase will riot. I would include 2D in this statement but it hasn’t been too long since Wonder initially came out, and we just got the Switch 2 edition so I’m comfortable waiting out the next new one of that branch, but we need a new 3D Mario now more than ever.

At E3 2010, Bandai Namco played this video in celebration of Pac-Man's 30th Anniversary. The video goes over Pac-Man's history from the inception of the original game to the franchise's presence in the then-present day.

The more time you spend trying to perfect a project, the less time you will have to create more projects. You can make something the best it can be, but make sure you are putting a limit on how long you're taking to do it.

I definitely see where he’s coming from. More and more international works beyond Japan have been taking cues from anime as inspiration, and the medium as a whole has had more mainstream prominence in the 2020s than ever before (much to the dismay of western cartoon junkies like myself).

This upbeat commercial for Pac-Man World's release in Japan goes all-in on the 20th birthday aspect. It notably uses clips from Namco press events featuring people celebrating by dancing and moving their hands like Pac-Man's mouth.

Underappreciated heroes of arcade gaming

It is well known that the original Pac-Man aimed to appeal to women and couples. Arcades at the time were male-dominated and featured games primarily about shooting and killing enemies. So how better to combat this norm than with a cute pacifist game about eating and avoiding colorful creatures?

Yesterday, I had my graduation from Cal State East Bay and now I can finally share this portrait that I designed to commemorate the occasion. It was a bittersweet yet satisfying experience getting to walk the stage and be honored with Alumni status. Now I look forward towards the future.

In 2006, Bandai Namco released QuickSpot, a Nintendo DS brain-training game that was part of the Touch Generations and Unō no Tatsujin brandings. When the game launched internationally in 2007, it featured appearances of Pac-Man and other Namco characters.

Seeing this reminds me of a desire of mine to see an official 3D Sonic game utilizing the Classic Sonic designs and aesthetic. Not a 2.5D platformer again (though they’re good to), but a full on 3D Classic style game. Certain fan games have certainly proved this to be possible.
