had an idea for a horror game on Steam with persistent/real world elements sort of like OneShot having a bot Steam account setup where the antagonist messages the player *on their Steam account* I feel like the chill you would get from receiving a 'look behind you' from "RESTRICTED" would be crazy

got a new laptop and de-shittifying Windows is insane bloatware, ads, cortana, mobile games pre installed worst of all is OneDrive, which feels like fighting a viral contagion. I finally managed to fully remove it after way too long if compatibility wasnt an issue for Linux, id make the switch

first gamedev meetup went great! some interesting people doing really cool things in the group I was a bit disappointed that so many people didnt show up who RSVPd but it was still a win! 🙂 next time will be a showcase meeting at a library and ill try and drum up some more buzz around it

I love this neat little trick to make a seamless texture "twist" around your geometry, without actually twisting the geometry itself. Blender's proportional editing is a life-saver, for modeling and UVs. Every type of falloff curve is useful for some situation. #b3d

ive learned my brain appreciates chaotic task flowcharts instead of long checklists I like moving ideas/tasks and connectin em with noodles I can identify a task that's a nexus to many others & see the impact of cracking it really helps me see rational paths of development & task dependencies

nothing to show quite yet, but the animation system is now working in Godot's AnimationTree framework. I'll tidy up getting it to feel right, and then get back to combat mechanics.

does anyone have advice on color correction and maintaining a (relatively) consistent palette in Godot? I match albedo to my palette, but I can't help thinking a shader with some posterization and some other techniques could really tighten it up. #gamedev #godotengine #indiedev
